INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

You will be really pleased and surprised what the goats will do to it. Wave goodbye to the PI! Be sure to contain them, and keep them on grass hay or alfalfa a month before process to clean out any remaining oils from bad plants. Its healthier for them anyways, they love it.
On the big vines I cut them in WINTER close to the ground as I can mainly before you see any green sprout on them. Wait until its dried up to pull down. DH will use the tractor forks and literally pull it off the trees. We burn it depending on wind direction, so no one is breathing it in. We had a lot of large vines here when we started cleaning up the property. Most of it is finally gone. Can really relate, I was never allergic either until a few years ago. We sent a few months just pulling vines off the trees here, sometimes by hand if the tree was small.

Yes...I'm thinking the goats will take care of the PI on the ground...it's those huge vines on the trees I'm concerned with. I'm really leery of cutting them and pulling them down/burning. Even if the smoke stays in the right direction, I'm concerned for neighbors downwind too.

Seriously...I'm hoping there is some place around here that will take on the large vines and dispose of them. But then how do yo keep them from sprouting up from the roots again without using herbicides?

On the goats, the plan is to let them browse the wooded area to be the "cleanup crew". When you suggest feeding hay the last month, is that to get them out of the poison ivy, etc., on their external body or are you referring to meat content?

Its designing time. Please start working on any designs you want to enter into the design contest for items supporting the 2016 chicken fest. So far there is a desire for a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie. But we would like to offer up 4 items so please tell us what else you would like to see as a fundraiser as well.

LOL so I found the scariest page on FB! ....Good Eggs Bad Eggs.. its a page set up just to report egg sellers. Thank goodness I haven't seen myself on there. Nor have I seen any of us. Still scares me that someones whole reputation could be marred just from one disgruntled buyer. EEEK!

I always try to send extras, and package as good as possible, so so far no complaints, but there's always one in the bunch you will never be able to please, that would make it their life mission to gripe about someone.

Not much new here, still downsizing some. Will be wrapping up chicken hatching in 2 weeks. May still set my Modern Games but aside from them, hatching will end this year. Except my turkeys, won't be setting anymore eggs this season. With daughters getting married and my Moms health Its difficult finding time socializing the babies enough to be people friendly. nite guys!
Congratulations on the wedding, and prayers for your mom!

Concerning the turkeys, you know you have a fellow lover of poults not forty minutes away. If you want to hatch some and don't have time, I can always take a few more until you're ready to take them back. I love having poults around. Heaven lies in poults.

My poults this far have been very sociable with people, ducks, chickens and get handled every day. We even had a few of them outside for about half an hour (the smallest bronze can squeeze between gaps in chain link, so he has to be under strict supervision). I have three brooders available and two in use.

I have heard nothing but horrible thing regarding that page. Corrupt admin which if they disagree with you or you stick up for someone they didn't have a good transaction with, they ban you from the group. I personally don't need that kind of negativity in my life. I deal with my customers directly. If they have a reasonable complaint, I will make it right. If it's just BS, then I wash my hands from them. Working retail I have heard you can't please everyone and those customers that still through a big fit and you meet their demands, they still run their mouth about you!

Yeah I worked retail forever. The thing is, if a customer gets mad at you and blasts it all over fb, it doesnt potentially ruin your reputation. There is a new good egg bad egg page that isnt bad. mostly good things said and you are allowed to dispute the claims. No drama like the other page. I dont mind that one. I just added both to make sure I dont end up on one of them, sort of a heads up for myself LOL.

so there is a product for everyone looking for something great....it kills virtually every disease....even the avian influenza...and even hiv.....
so you wash the setting eggs with the solution and then set them....

great product and a must for the worriers out there on diseases...so keep your eggs safe

I'd be a bit nervous about using it on eating eggs, the warning list is so long almost as long as the list on the lye I use to make soap. Of course the lye I use is food grade as some people use it in pretzel making but still a list so long and extreme is a bit unnerving to me.
