INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I got my first olive colored egg today. It was a cross I had used to get a fast growing large meat bird. Somehow the hens are fast growing but not as large as I expected. Still the roosters are very fast growing and very large for their age. Not a cornish cross by any means but a fast growing rooster that I'm happy with.

If anyone is needing a rooster, we will be processing a few tomorrow morning. Message me to save a rooster.

@bradselig or anyone else that is handy in a hardware store.

Do you know what the name of the quick disconnect parts are called in the GQF water reserve. Its the white parts with the grey button.

very late notice so sorry about that.  But I will be heading to Anderson area on Sunday.  If anyone needs birds taken up that way I'm sure we could work something out.

Also Brad how far from Anderson are you?  If you have a current list of any large fowl chicks/ chickens for sell I'd like to see it.  I'll have turkey eggs to set on Monday that you could talk me out of.
I maybe free Sunday. I'm about 45mins or so north. My assistant managers husband just had a heart attack yesterday while he was driving in Indy. So right after I left for the day she called me back in to have me cover her shift as she left for Indy. Of course she couldn't work today either. So I worked a 15hr day yesterday and a 13hr day today (on only 3 hrs of sleep lol). I got a manager from another store to work tomorrow morning for her so I didn't have to work another 13hr day. I will have Sunday off unless her husband is discharged that day. If you don't mind I will get a list tomorrow when I can think straight. I'm going to bed now lol

Poor thing! All of you! I'm sorry to hear about her husband and your long hours along with lack of sleep. Sweet dreams and hope that tomorrow is a better day for you.

I had a great visit with @racinchickins. .as expected! ;) I brought home 7 poults! 5 MW and 2 blue slate mixes. They are perfect!

It is just past midnight and I just finished doing some additional predator proofing on some hoop coops I had built a while back.

Jealous!

My turks are getting older and don't like to cuddle as much as they used to. The bitty BB white is still sweet and friendly with me and likes being held, but apparently one of the bigger birds has been picking on the turks enough that the poults take it out on the banty chicks. No blood drawn even remotely on anyone. I'm more worried about our budding tom pinching on their budding caruncles and hauling the other turkey poults around the backyard. Most interesting development is that my SLW and the light Brahmas play bozen and break up the fights.

I adore my MW's also from @racinchickins completely different breed of turkey. Congrats! You will really enjoy the breed.

Do MW's breed and go broody vet often? Our BBB's are awesome turkeys and would like to try the MW's! We had our first Tom trying to strut yesterday, funniest thing ever!
