INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

yes, in your case, I recommend working one on one with a breeder to get mature pullets. Normally I'd send you to the lebanon show but that's canceled this year.
But when buying pullets you know you are getting females and you are almost positive that you are getting the right breed too.
I will either do that in the future, or I will just hatch my own, and deal with what I get. I am fine dealing with what I get--I am not fine arguing with people on the phone or email. That stresses me out to no end! If you screw up, just fix it, you know? I have not made a big deal about any of our three roosters. I have been treated like a PITA just for asking for my refunds on these last two, though. And the wrong breed thing...I don't want to go there again, but if they had just listened on the phone call or read the email and used even the most basic logic...

Anyway. Yes. I will just buy a grown up chicken in the future or hatch my own.

Been awhile since I watched this, and I'm in a dancing mood today, so I thought I'd share this with you....There's a 10-hour version if you like this one.

The 10-hr version is here:

Have you seen "Chick Chick" by Wang Rong Rollin? Since watching the video for that song, I can't hear chickens in music without thinking of catchy Chinese pop and beautiful women squawking.

I don't think those are BOs--they have really stocky yellow legs. All of my BOs this year had pinkish/whitish legs (which is what they're supposed to have). Something about the head looks off too, but I'm not sure what it is. Chanteclers I might believe in, though I was leaning more on Rocks. What kinds of combs do they have?
Chanteclers have cushion combs. There should be no ridges or bumps on them. Most of the Rock's I have seen have single combs? This example of a Chantecler cushion comb won the 2012 BYC Cushion comb thread contest

...this is the submission from Shuswapfran of their bird's comb just to clarify and give credit where it's due :)
