INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hey, good to see you, but so sorry for the losses. It sounds like 2 different things going..Everything I saw on the thread is good points to follow up on. Definitely pick up the other birds, check weight and body mass. I would be concerned about worms also. The egg situation is pretty easy to tell whats happened there.

Thanks! It's been a rough week with the birds for sure. I checked in Sav's mouth and I think it's dry pox. I've still got her quarantined for the time so that I can make sure she is eating. I think I'm going to go ahead and treat everyone for worms just to rule out that possibility.

just if anyone is interested a guy in my area is selling buff beardless silkie roos for 15 apiece(is that a good price?) and turkeys for 20 apiece(is this a good price ?)id probably deliver to you for gas money

Still ISO a couple New Hamshire roosters message me if you have any! Also thinking about raising pullets to sell in the spring. Any suggestions on the best 1-2 breeds and also the best age to sell them

Well ya'll I'm bored... so you are going to have to pay the piper

My BR hen was trying to hatch these chicks when she died so I finished them in the incubator. I so hope the BR chick is a pullet.

I got these from a privet sell, said she couldn't tell the breed line but Not Hatchery. Something tells me I was lied to, but we like them anyway.

This BUBBA, my surprise kid in May, he is too cold to come out.

This is Harriett, she is my girl, always following me around and wanting to be apart of what ever I am doing.. love love love her . She has a sister but sh don't give 2 hoots what I do... lol unless it involves FOOD!! Thats her walking away.

2 of my 3 BA's, and Buddy and Bear in the back, my 2 GP's.

This is Lucy, she loves me and DH, always wanting to sit in our laps, UNLESS one of us have the camera in our hand ... then you get the back side of her. We have no ideal what she is, we got her in a trade, when asked we just say " she a chicken ".

These 2 just wont stay away, camera hogs!!

These are the 2 CX's we got in hopes that they are hens for the big guy ( Waddles ) on the right. And yes I gave them a bath but they wont stay OUT of the dusting hole... lol

a few of the chicks enjoying their Falcon Free Zone.

Look Romeo's top knot is growing back Finally and 1 of his ladies.

Splash warming her chicks up from the morning chill.

More babies and Bubbles on the right. She has a problem with her head always bobbing up and down when she walks.

Using the goats hay feeder for a morning perch. Can anyone tell me if this Cochin is a pullet or a roo?

Blackbeard and some of his ladies.

Doc at the water trough, Ransom and Redgitt wouldn't stop eating long enough to pose for me.

but AJ ( the runway model ) will always pose, don't even need a camera.

Well my computer has told me that's Enough so I guess you off the hook for the rest. and I was almost done!!!!
Hope you weren't too bored.

Is this an Ameraucana? She is about 4-6 months old. I bought her from a local farm. She is so skidish. She had her head tucked in the corner for a whole day.

It COULD have Easter Egger somewhere in the mix. Most have big cheeks, but not all. Definitely has a winter hardy comb.

Pretty sure that Cochin is a pullet. You should know by now just going by comb size. I have 7 CXs that are younger than she is, and I can easily tell which are males (one's even crowing). Coloring also seems to be really even and light, which is a lady thing. Boys are less even and more golden in buffs.

Glad to see Balckbeard's happy. He's growing up so pretty.

I think his base coloring is golden duckwing with a few stray alleles otherwise (like incomplete lacing). When you try him in calculators, go ahead and call him gold duckwing and see what he should toss given that.
