INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Did he ever figure out what hens are for at your place? He knows other toms are for combat trials, dogs are his mortal enemies, and human ladies are for romancing, but did he figure out what women of his own species are for?

So glad he's figured out that horses aren't for blood sport. He's a fun bird, but ever since Sadie snapped at him when he was a poult, everything dog-shaped is just not to be trusted around his favorite flockmates.
He did finally figure out what turkey hens are for ;) Pancake really squatted for him a lot! If @faerydust16 can't find a hen locally, maybe one of your girls will hatch poults.

Next round of eggs due April 16th! We set 50 eggs all EE/OE and Leghorns. 6 chicks are promised to another BYC'er. Keeping the rest to start my new layer flock. I also have some scovy eggs due the same time.
Looks like we are finally getting some spring this week, hope to get garden tilled and cold crops in.

Horses are weird creatures to either romance or flounce about. The turkeys across the way aren't interesting to him just yet. It's too cold for him to see the chicks just yet. Their house is almost built though.

I have a young 4H lady that I met through my best friend working with my steer calf, KC Masterpiece. We did his ear tag today (required for showing) and it is really no different than an ear piercing. It is going great, she has him leading and comfortable with the staff. I am "loaning" the calf so her family didn't have to invest in a cow. In return, I am learning how to lead train a calf since I have the new little bull calf. We talked a while today and she wants to be a vet. Her mom is offering her help with the adult cows to lead and halter them too! I lost a lot of time when my mom became ill, and never trained the adults when they were calves.
My boys did starter calves and goats in 4-h.

So another raccoon just appeared a few moments ago. Setup the trap and waiting for it! This one is huge! I yelled at it to go away and git out of here, it just turned around at me and stared at me till I pretended to throw something at it!

Eek. Is it able to get to your ducks? And chickens?

I'll hatch as many turkeys as I can (as broodies can). So far nothings hatched. Looks like all the fertile ones have died in she'll or were snitched by predators so far. Penny's should have hatched by now.
