cow is done and in the freezer and wow, lot of work! I even had room for soup bones, but every freezer I have is full now. Was too tired to calculate total finished weight but will share soon. Tomorrow we hope to get summer crops planted especially the corn. By the time the Cornish X are ready to process we should have room. I did order Brown Chinese gosling from Meyer hatchery this weekend. There are no local breeders and I've had great luck with their stock. I have 1 younger hen brooding 3 eggs, 1 older hen I haven't found a nest yet. They are the best layers by far but my flock is getting old.
But three of last week's babies up and died.
Not really sure why. It's kind of a turkey thing to find ways to die. But generally that doesn't happen with mine. So I'll be more anxious over these new babies this week.
. Hopeful for an EE rooster but not seeing one so far.
