this is my Belle . She won't go into her doghouse so I didn't want her lying out in the rain. This is our "mud room" porch so its not heated. Pyrenees are cold climate dogs, but high winds and wet isn't a good combo. Hope to have the shelter finished and move the goats and Belle tomorrow. View attachment 1682517 View attachment 1682518

Hello all.

New member, but not a new chicken owner, from Indy. Just checking in and looking around. Have three laying hens that have been patient enough to help me learn the ropes, so I'm pretty comfortable with things now.

Took a few photos of my Dominique Cockerel yesterday. He is 8 months old.

In this photo you can see 2 of the laced orps that I got from @Faraday40 to the right.

And...the third laced orp is behind him but you really can't see her

How is his temperament? Still doing good? He has a very contemplative expression. Handsome guy!

In front: Is this the laced girl that was mostly black? If so, wow did she change! My darker girl (Double Stuff) & Puppy have nicer lacing now too. Both were dark with splotchy lacing as chicks but improved over the winter.

Now I'm curious & really want to see more of your laced orps!

More and more bad things keep happening..
Yesterday we had some severe wind which caused trees to fall on to power poles behind our house. Which cut our power. Then made a transformer explode and catch the trees on fire. A burning tree fell onto our 3 year old sons bedroom. Made part of his ceiling fall in and window shatter. We ran to our sons room and found him covered in drywall and dust a little bloody nose and lip with a bad knot on the side of his head. He didn't cry at all, he was laughing about it! My sister lives in a camper in our driveway came into the house to check on us. Smoke started coming from the roof inside our house so we went outside leaving our son with my sister and found our roof was catching fire from the tree. We grabbed fire extinguishers and climbed to the roof to put out the fire. Our roof wasn't too badly damaged from the fire but about 3 roof boards will need to be replaced and a new shingled roof. The structure of our house was not damaged! All in all we are all fine! We are using our Generator to keep some power and heat in our house. Our son is staying at my parents house till we get his room fixed and power back on. Nipsco said most of the power lines will need to be replaced and their estimated power restore time is between 5 days to a week!

Thank you! She is a purebred AKC Great Pyrenees, a friend of mine owned her and 3 Nubian goats. Belle is a full time livestock guardian dog and lives with her goats. My friend is moving out of state, other life events so she asked I take them in. She knows if she is able to keep goats again I will give her kids when the time comes.
