All this talk of old cars has brought back some memories for me, my oldest brother was a die-hard Mopar man, but he had a real love for Hudsons. Those things were built like a tank, but rode like a dream.

I have an 83 Chevy Caprice Estate Wagon with a 350 under the hood, that gets decent mileage still even though it's getting close to the 200,000 mile mark. Engine was rebuilt at 66,000 mile by the previous owners. I got her as a restore project. However she is not up to a long road trip at the moment.

I've had to replace the water pump twice, the fuel pump, the gas tank, soon as I get some more money set aside I am going to have the upholstery redone, and some other interior cosmetics. Body wise she has a ding in the left rear quarter panel were somebody clipped me, and the drivers door were somebody hit me in a parking lot.

Now if I could only hit the lotto she'd be fully restored!

Hey Chuck, you know the 2 largest collectors of Hudsons live here in Indiana. I know Larry Kennedy. He has near hundred of them. He lives in what we call LA ( Lower Acton ) right off the highway. You can see his cars from the highway. He likes Chryslers. He sold a 64 Imperial that had the Continental package. That car was owned by a President of a Bank in NYC. The guy he sold it too totaled it. Whatta bummer. Larry did a frame off restoration on that car.

Oohh that makes me miss my d'uccles so much !! Lost both of them due to this dang cocci whatever outbreak . . . . haven't lost anyone since Friday. . . . so hopefully my dead count stops at 8 . . . . I think I am down to 20 chickens now . . .

The sad thing is . . . . 20 is a much more reasonable number for me to be at right now but darn if I don't wanna go buy more ROFL
