we were forced to test the cookies. the fudge is off limits. James is so not happy about that. he's making scrambled eggs right now. and bacon. 10 year old making bacon on a griddle. talk about freaking out.

Awww Shelley, that's too funny! That must be some good cheesecake!

Boyd, don't make me get the switch!

Norm, sorry you won't make this one, maybe next time?

Andy, you were right, I did check BYC from time to time but got a ton accomplished!

Joe, glad you're still coming, we will be here all day so just get here when you can!

Mosquito control was here about 5:30. The guy tested and treated some standing water for us and will be spraying around 9:30 tonight so we should be good for the party, I hope. We have a can of OFF just in case

Oh you need one of those handy bacon presses. Not the cast iron ones, that's too much work. I use an aluminum one I inherited from my grandpa, I love it!!

Rice pudding........

I feel like Homer Simpson right now......

I'll also have some button quail hatching eggs to bring, so it seems. I've been trying to sell them on here with no luck. I really don't need to set anymore right now!! I don't know what I'm going to do with these guys if I can't sell them!

the presses are great! the bacon lays nicely...it's home grown and thick sliced...it's the 10 year old who wants to flip it every ten seconds! he actually did really well and made wonderful scrambled eggs too!

my husband thinks rice pudding is the best dessert ever!!!

Well, I got to taste the cheeseball

That's so nice of you Carole. I know Ed will enjoy it!

Miss_Jayne, I now see what you're saying. Here I was about to offer you one of my extra presses!

um, well, don't let me stop you!

cheeseball! yummy. what if i accidentally get into the fridge and eat it all, i mean totally by accident.

jk...you are too good to me Kathleen.

do you guys hear that funny sound???? it's like a weird crackling sound?
it's weird. anyway, i hear it.

this bacon is so good. i could eat all of it. ALL of it. but i did not. i ate three pieces and a little eggs. James even put the plates and silverware out and all. he rocks!

have a brooder to change and one to set up. i hatched out some EE's and RC RIR yesterday.

all the fudge is set! yippy! cookies made. shovel ready. bag not packed yet, but ready to go.

face paint and balloons ready to be put in car. camera set to go.

yippyyyyyyyY!

Oh yeah, I've also got my button boxes made, so all I have to do is put the birdies in them! And add food and water, of course. The water will get to wait till we get there, wet cardboard is not a good idea!!
I still have to figure out for sure how I'm going to bring my coturnix, I think I"ll just bring their brooders. I'm taking half of them to the auction tomorrow, so I won't have so many to bring!! But that will still leave me with like 20, so I'll need room! I'll figure it out. Gotta go check for quail eggs, so I can get started on that. I'm sure it will take me a few hours to peel all those eggs!

Okay, well I lied, I looked at the clock and realized it's only 6:30, so there won't be too many eggs out there just yet. But it also reminded me that the cheesecake was STILL IN THE OVEN!!!

It was in there for an hour and 5 minutes, but it looks good! Just a little brown on top, just the way I like it

Whew!
