Indoor cage set up for seramas

I didn't realise you could use 'deep litter' in the run? Won't they just dig down until they get to the wet stuff?

Sure...they can dig but having it deep may help prevent the wetness.
;)

But if they dig down to the wet aren't they likely to find some stray food and maybe get an infection?

You should probably clean all old feed and wait until the wet dries before you start deep littler method.

You could build up the area under your coop too with a few (maybe a lot) of bags of dirt.
Not sure if you have hardware type stores that sell 50 pound bags of dirt cheap like I do here.

I have my coop/run on concrete - the rain seeps underneath so I'm going to have it raised onto battens and hopefully that will stop the problem. :)

oh..ok...so the concrete is holding water?
Can you take a picture of the coop and maybe I can help you come up with an idea on how to stop the water from getting in?

The water is seeping under the gap between the concrete and run. I will try and take a picture of it a little later. I can't think of anything else to do rather than raising the whole thing on battens and putting in a floor on top so that hopefully it stops the wet. I hope that makes sense :-0

I think the pictures will help me to understand better.

Thank you!
