My boyfriend and I have decided we want to get two ducklings to raise as indoor pets. He wants a Pekin and I want a Cayuga. We also both want drakes...my question is: will two ducklings of different breeds get along with age if raised together? And if we get two drakes will they fight or anything once they are mature?

These would be our only pets and will be raised together side by side with my boyfriend and I...I would like to think that they wouldn't have any major issues with each other since we would be raising them together as "brothers". Please help me so I can get my little babies soon! This is my last final question and preparation answered before I go get them!

Well, I would not recommend them as indoor pets, unless you diaper them.
As far as fighting, the chickens I raised would fight if they needed to, regardless of being raised together. My chickens that were aggressive did not start out that way.

! Great to have you with us! I've raised drakes together before from hatchlings and they didn't fight. Good luck to you!

ducks love to be in water and make a mess of their waterers etc. They also poo a lot more than chickens and all over the place. You can get duck diapers but, you will be changing them a lot. Maybe you could have partial house pet ducks. Have them inside over night (more protection from predators) and allow them out in a securely fenced area with wading pool during the day.

Serama chickens are one of the smallest breeds and originated as housepets in Malaysa. They can handle confinement - I don't know that ducks do.
