I give my ducks a heat lamp in the winter. Ducks are also pretty good with the cold. Make sure they have shelter, insulation, and of course food and water and they should be fine. Wood shavings and straw is my personal choice, but I have used shredded paper before. I know there is a ton of info on duck shelters on here already. Good luck! Oh, and for your neighbors, 1 drakes are quiter, 2 put some ceramic duck yard ornaments around so your neighbors won’t notice the living ones
.
Having to rehome a pet doesn't make someone a bad person. Given your situation you would not only be improving your allergic condition, but giving your duck a happier life being around other ducks. I am sure whomever you would rehome your duck to wouldn't object to visits. Best of luck.
