Dh has the front wall all but framed out. We have another solid side and the side with the doors to frame. Once that is done, we will stand all 4 sides up connect and frame a roof.
It got a bit hot though so Dh is headed out to get wooden posts for the fencing corners. We are going to attempt to put up the fence ourselves first and if that fails we will hire someone.
I am willing to accept all offers to help put up the fence. We still need to get the fencing and the t posts picked up though. So not today by any means but maybe next weekend the 26th or the following weekend of August 2nd.

The goat shed now has framing done for the 2 easy sides and some for each end. And all 4 framed or partially framed walls are connected. The somewhat framed shed is now sitting in our yard.
We will be making another wood run to lowes tomorrow and I hope to get the doors and roof framed out tomorrow, maybe a loft too but a loft can be added later.

My question tonight is: any recommendations for the exterior wall material. I'm thinking plywood and paint. But I'm open to any other options that are close in prince range.

Thats a good choice. Mine has metal siding only, and I wish it were better.
If someone has some unsplit log chunks they love them too! Fun to watch them play on them.

depends on how thick of plywood you are planning on using. It may not be the best... when it gets daylight out I will grab a picture of what the goats did to my plywood wall and now we have to replace that whole section, DH says he is going to go with 1" this time. Just so ya know what we did first... We used 1/2" plywood for our walls and then we sided with metal skirting, like you see on the bottom of house trailers, only longer. it lasted about a mth. The goats were playing and I heard a crash bang boom and saw Mamma Hazel's head stuck in the wall. She was fine .. scared but not hurt, cant say the same for her house. But I will get a Pic so you can see it.

Whatever you end up using, I have some Tyvek house wrap if you'd like it.
We chose 3/4"OSB, then house-wrapped and taped to prevent leaks, then vinyl-sided it. Menard's has very reasonable prices on vinyl siding, and it's quick & easy work once you get started.

what do you plan to use in place of plywood? I really just need the shed to last long enough that Dh will fall in love with the goats. Then I'm sure we will get a fancier goat shed for hanging out and kidding. Then we will use the homemade one as the milking shed.

I would think plywood would be fine, just not OSB board (which it looks like in the picture if I'm not mistaken). OSB is already made up of particles and becomes really soft and easy to break apart when wet (my understanding). However I think the thicker plywood would be best.

90% of the framing is done. There is just a bit more for the door, the roof and the shelf / loft. I'm really hoping some of the walls go up tomorrow and of course the roof.
