Its 16% protein for the good feed, so thats close, and I have wondered that myself. Summer especially! My geese and ducks dont eat hardly any feed in the summer, and the chickens rarely eat much since they all free range. Maybe compare the ingredients and nutrients, betting it is very close.
You have me curious now! I will look at the tags since I just bought feed today.

My ex-son in law and grandchildren raise goats n chickens. I asked him once why couldn't they eat th same feed, he said the goat feed has added niacin and some other vitamin additive that chickens don't need and can v harmful to their system because it causes/blocks the calcium absorption that chickens need. Goats can't eat chicken feed because it lacks niacin and ??? Whatever the other vitamin was. Also depending on where you get ur feed some places add molasses to their feed and I don't know about you but my chickens are hyper enough without loading them up with sugar! Lol

goats can't eat chicken food because it has too much corn in it. It can cause grain bloat. Or at least that is what the breeder told me.

Awe poor Sophie must b miserable! Hope she goes soon or those kids will b HUGE!

Date: Which of these days would work better for you, as an interested party.
Monday, 11-August 6p
Saturday, 23-August 4p

If neither of these options work, throw something else out there. Our options are virtually limitless. We can do something pre-scheduled like every 4th Thursday, and whoever wants to join can show up.

Hi guys. Is Bloomington close enough to Indy to count? I don't know how often I/we would make it up there for get-togethers or to lend a hand, but it's definitely doable for us on occasion.

And the almost daily update for the goats fix up ~ the metal posts are now in the ground thanks to Racin letting my Dh borrow a post driver. Wow that thing was loud. But it did the job. There were 3 metal posts that did not go up as tree roots need to be dug up first. And we still have the 30 or so wood posts to get put up. Then the last step of attaching the fencing and hanging the gate. We did not make any progress on the shed in the past 3 days. But laying out the posts and getting them in was huge for us. Like always, I'm willing to accept help with any part that is left. I'll even trade you a rooster or two for your time or duck eggs if you prefer.
