Indy Backyard Chickens

We are new to chickens and just got 6 chicks today. We have 2 Americanas, we have 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Sapphire Gem, and 2 Barred Rock. Our family lives in Indianapolis and we have 5 children ranging in age from 17 to 4. We love all things outdoors and are excited about gathering eggs and watching them grow. I found this forum when looking for more information about raising chickens in our backyard. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
