Inexpensive bird netting, check it out!

I never had any trouble with that. I do take I it down in the winter as snow does a number on it. It wont keep out predators but it does very good at keeping flighty birds in and its cheap enough to just put up new every spring.

Hi Lil chick! I am certainly no expert at anything much but I/we are going with deer netting or small hardware cloth like 1/4 or 1/2". I think most people with enclosed coop have had or will eventually have predator problems based on what I've read here. In Raymond, WA we have Eagles, crows, hawks, raccoons etc. The hardware cloth gets real pricey as does the chicken wire. Amigoni was suggested as a factory direct but you need to buy a lot of it and their least expensive was $63. Someone told me that he uses the smaller chicken wire for additional protection on the fence in order to keep his chicks in but some people here have said that it doesn't work well for aerial protection because a predator can chew through it. I think this is a trial and error thing. We wish you luck and I'd like to hear what you go with, and the results.
