Inexpensive leg bands....

For those of you using zip ties, how do you trim them without them being sharp? I suggested it to hubby, and he thought it would be too sharp, and they'd hurt themselves. No?

I am staying away from zip ties and regular leg bands aka the spirals are terrible to take back off on a growing chick.
I opted for a better approach...I bought a pack of colored craft stick AKA pipe cleaners in the craft section of wal-mart. They are soft and can be cut to whatever size you want. You can wrap around extra and are easy to adjust the size if you leave extra on them.
