Hi, my silkie rooster has an infection in the crease of his comb. It is all yellow pus, I have cleaned it out a few times with q tips, and put antiseptic powder on it but it keeps coming back. Any suggestions as to what I can do for it please?

Can you post photos of him and his comb?

It may be that he will always need to have his comb cleaned/monitored. Some birds have a crease or fold that captures moisture/dirt/debris and this "festers" creating a nice little pocket for fungal or bacterial infections.

If you can, get some Hibiclens (Chlorhexidine), swab and clean out the crease, removing the pus, etc. Pat the area dry. Re swab daily for a few days allowing the Chlorhexidine to dry on the skin.
See if that helps with the infection.

If it does, check him every few days to see if the area needs recleaning.

Thank you, I will try that.
