Infected Comb?

I will check her crop in the morning but I’m not sure that that’s the problem. Definitely a possibility though. I really appreciate all of your responses!
From what I’ve been observing I’m actually not sure that the comb is the problem anymore. It still looks odd but her symptoms are more than just the comb. She has been making strange head movements almost like she’s having balance problems. This only occurs when her eyes are closed for some reason. I took a video of these motions and will share the link below. She’s still lethargic and mostly sits around and sleeps. She’s still a little curious and interested in food but not nearly as much as usual. She’s not eating much and her droppings are still watery.
This is frustrating as I feel like the case keeps changing! I definitely appreciate you all trying to help, thank you so much!

That looks abnormal as if she is having neurological symptoms. Has she been vaccinated for Mareks disease? A head injury could be a possibility, but Mareks, a vitamin E deficiency, or a seizure disorder could as well. I would give her some Poultry NutriDrench or Poultry Cell a few drops up to 2 ml daily.

Yes, she is vaccinated against mareks. I can’t rule out a head injury, but I’ve never seen anything to confirm it. I think vitamin E is definitely likely. I’ve also heard of people using poly-vi-sol, would that work as well?

Many use Polyvisol. I prefer chicken vitamins (NutriDrench, Poultry Cell) which have E and selenium, but if you want to give just vitamin E for neuro symptoms, you can give E cpasules 40 micrograms daily. Or give both. Selenium is a mineral that helps E metabolism, and is in egg, tuna, nuts and seeds. ND and PC have selenium as well.

That is very good to know, thank you! I will try buying that and see how it goes with her. What is the best way to give it to her?

You can puncture a capsule of vitamin E and spread on a treat, such as egg or wet chicken feed. The NutriDrench or Poultry Cell can be given orally, 1 ml per each 3 pounds of weight up to 3 pounds daily. Or put it on food.

I got some poultry cell last night and have been giving her some in addition to the probiotic/vitamin blend in her water. Her comb actually looks relatively normal now but she’s still lethargic and hardly wants to eat or drink anything. I will keep updating on how she’s doing!

Sorry that she is not responding to your treatment. Can you give her the Poultry Cell orally today 2-3 ml, and mix a little egg, a tsp of plain yogurt, and a small amount of chicken feed, then mix in enough water to make it like runny oatmeal?

It sounds like you may possibly lose her if she doesn’t start eating. You could try tube feeding her if younwant to learn. If she sies, I would send her refrigerated body into the state vet poultry lab for a necrospy to look for Mareks or other things. Here is a good link for finding your state vet:

I know it's been about a week since this thread has been active but I just wanted to post a follow-up. My girl got a little better and perkier once I started giving her vitamins and electrolytes. She even showed more interest in food. But just a day or so after that she declined again and stopped eating. Unfortunately she passed a few days ago. I just want to thank everyone for their help and advice, especially @Eggcessive. While we weren't successful, I really appreciate your helpfulness and support :)

Willow started showing signs of some underlying problem months ago but it wasn't enough for me to be concerned. I think she had some kind of internal issue that couldn't be helped. Poor girl, shes in a better place now.
