I think you need to debride the wound (remove all dirt & feathers) then clean it. Do you have a food scale that you can weigh her on? You will need to give her the amoxicillin at 56 mg per pound twice a day.

i can do that. also found some chlorhexidine

You can get Hibiclens (chlorhexiden) at Walmart for $6. Dilute it half and half with water, and flush the wound twice a day. Use a syringe or turkey baster to irrigate it. Then apply plain antibiotic ointment twice a day. Is there any evidence of maggots or tiny worms moving in the wound?

i had some in my house so i’m using that. no maggots, i think i caught her too quickly for them to lay

that’s what i just did, i tried to pull them out of the wound but it just wasn’t working

small update, since i can see the wound better now. the wound itself is green, but has zero smell which i assume is good ? flushed it out and gave her some antibiotics.

that’s what i saw some other people saying, and that sounds about right. do you know if i should keep the wound moist or not? i saw mixed answers on that…
