So. what all do i need to do to get this guy better...its not looking good at all right now. and whats up with his bill is it suppose to be green? i dont think it is but dont knw much yet bout ducks.

Is it cold and snowy where you are? I only know about chickens but that sure looks like a bit of frost bite on the feet to me. It may help to massage some antibiotic salve on his feet just in case it's an infection as well. Ducks still like water in freezing weather and sometimes don't know when to get out;-) As for bill color I'd give plenty of good food and fresh water, keep his litter clean and see if it changes within a week or two. Best of luck young friend.

i live in north florida area.. well all her ducks have green bills thats the weird thing.. i knw there bills are peeling is that normal? i soaked his foot in epshm salt well a bath actually so he would have to stay in there he liked it.. but when i cut away the top of the padding at the heel it was a dark red/black color..i even cut alittle deep because its hard as a rock and no cheese or anything. but at the top of his ankle which u prob cant see is alittle green with some fluid in it..i drained that and its back again.. were at do u think the infection is cause i dont want to cut into his heel again if the infection is not there .

and the crack you see on his heel was already there i didnt make that..but i did use that to cut into and peel back some of his heel to take a look..

I'd keep up with the Epsom salt soaks, but don't let him drink the water because it is a laxative, warm soak and even Epsom salt wraps. take wet wash cloth soak in warm water pour Epsom salt in it and wrap his foot hold him for about 10 min. and maybe some antibiotics in water since it looks infected. Poor fellow, now that you have opened it be sure to keep him on very clean bedding to keep any infection from getting worse, and no meds with pain relief in it.[topical] I'd also start him on some vitamins in his water..

Ditto Miss Lydia about the Epsom salts. If you can do that two, three times a day that would be super.

The bill just may have a green cast to it. Some drakes have that. Our buff drake has a greenish bill.

If it were me, I would get him on oral antibiotics.

raying for you both.

Green bills are normal. Depends partly on diet according to books. I have some green and orange bills, some yellowy and some blackish. Depends on color and breed of duck. Also in females color fades or changes in laying season. Nothing wrong with bill. My black runners have greenish black bills. 2 of my Saxony drakes have greenish bills and they are Holderread birds.
