Hi everyone. I have a Blue Copper Maran rooster that is about 8 years old. He has never been sick before and I am very worried about him. Two days ago I discovered that his right eye was a little bit swollen and had bubbles coming from it. I put some Terramycin in/on it and I think it made it worse. Yesterday wasn't too bad, but when I looked about 20 minutes ago he had a bunch of crusty stuff around his eye which I assumed was the old Terramycin. I gently removed it with a Q tip and flushed it out with some saline solution meant for horses. He also has some nasal discharge and breathes which his mouth open and it smells really bad. I saw him drink quite a bit but not eat (I guess that doesn't mean he isn't though). I was thinking maybe he has infectious coryza because of the symptoms he's displaying. If anyone could help me that would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Can you post some photos of him, the eyes and what the inside of his beak look like?
Have you added any new chickens to your flock in the last 30 days?

Is there pus in the eye? Press that out, flush well then apply your ointment.
I would still look inside the beak for signs of canker or yellow/white pasty material.
Also is his crop emptying overnight? Crop issues can smell bad too.
Do you have any medications/antibiotics on hand?

Let us know your findings.
