Hi there, I have a pair of mated pigeons. The female has been laying a clutch every two weeks and they are both very good egg parents, sitting on the eggs constantly. I was hoping for some squabs but none so far after about 4 clutches. No signs of fertilization or any embryos either from what I've seen. We had a couple of ~20 degree f days so I'm thinking maybe it got too cold for the eggs. Now that it's warming up do you guys think I can expect babies anytime soon? Worried that my male may be infertile. He is a fancy owl breed so maybe he needs his vent feathers trimmed. Thanks in advance :)

hmm. 4 clutches? If I had to guess, the male is infertile. after 4 clutches, there should have been at least one egg fertile. I may be wrong though... Could you find a new male and test this theory?

It could be the hen, but hens infertility is rarer than males.

I hope this helps :)

Thanks, I have 2 other males and they try to woo her but she sticks with her current mate. I'm not interested in selling any squabs or using them in shows. I just keep them as pets mostly, so I'd rather not separate them for their own sake lol. If she decides to choose a different mate on her own after too many failed attempts then that would be ok. Thanks for the advice :)
