Inflammation on chick’s toe

I just recently noticed this lump on the bottom of my baby chick’s foot. Any idea what this is? I’m guessing an inflamed feather follicle? What can I do about this? Will it continue to grow as my baby chick gets bigger? I want to deal with it before it gets bigger. Not sure what to do .

Looks like an infected/inflamed feather follicle. Just keep an eye on it. If it gets bigger or more angry looking, you may want to lance it open/disinfect/apply antibiotic ointment.
