Info on New Ducks???

Hello, my little girl wants ducks, we already have 20 chickens in a penned area. I am new to ducks, My question iscan they get along with the chickens or should i seperate them? I was thinking about digging a hole and inserting a black plastic landscape liner so i can fill with the hose thats about 20' away. Is this a good idea?? Can they eat the same food as chickens or do i have to buy duck feed? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you for taking the time
