Info on picking a breed, where to buy, what genders to get

Hoping to get two females soon and was thinking that one would be a runner. I have seen that they are nervous and that they are docile temperament, can someone clear this up? They will be therapy ducks for me so I would like non-nervous ducks. Thanks

My Runners are sweet but they are the nervous type more so than my Muscovy's.

This was a great read and very informative. The only issue i have now is that I want to buy more than the one breed I have now. I am thinking about adding calls, pekins, and also thought about a pair of wood ducks. I love listening to the ducks all day and i also want a few for eggs. I guess you could say I want some for each of the reasons.
