information needed about duck

i have a pair of call ducks and the female keeps removing the eggs from the nest so what does this mean?
i had some information from a friend who keeps ducks saying i should separate them but when i did they were very distressed so would it help if i had more ducks to keep them company they are in a run during the day and shut in at night

You might consider getting more girls. Many of us think that removing eggs from the nest indicates something not quite right with the eggs. How old are the ducks?
