Information on Day 7 Egg Please

I honestly understood I'd either have NO eggs hatching or MAYBE up to 3 eggs hatching..... so, having so many viable is kind of stunning! No worries... I STILL don't believe all of them will make it to hatch..... except for #1 and #10. I really have hope in my heart for those 2. :D

Yeah shipped eggs are a gamble! You’ll have to keep me updated! I have some under a broody pullet as well. They are due October 22-23. First time I’ve ever had a broody and I’m super nervous about it.

I've never had anything on any side ever. First broody. Don't have a rooster. I am totally lost at this point. I had PLANS on the next step being getting meat birds.... oh but Nooooooooo, I get into this...

I am totally blaming everyone on BYC for this!

Haha! Unexpected chicken math!

Everyone was posting chick pics and I even walked past chicks at Rural king. Thought I was being strong lol I told myself I’d just wait until spring. Then Hawk that had only been laying for about a month decided she wanted babies. She’s an EE and I hatched her on Easter. I jinxed myself saying no chicks til spring! So I slipped 8 eggs under her last weekend. I candled yesterday and took 2 out. A clear and a weird looking one.

You should get a rooster and start incubating eggs in the spring! They do hatch a longs on here and it’s super fun!

I keep telling myself I’ll get meatbitds but I don’t think I could butcher them.

I assumed probably every single chick that hatched will be roos. I am set up to deal with it. Also, to deal with any possible leghorns. We have 3. The kiddo is TOTALLY in lurve with one..... and she's the evilEST one of the bunch....

Anywhoo, where's your hatching thread? I'd love to see them!

Lol sorry! I love incubating but I really thought about just buying a few chicks to slip under my girl.

Most will probably be boys. Wish for boys and maybe you’ll get girls lol

I have 1 white leghorn and she’s very nice. The red birds I have on the other hand...well they are super mean.

I don’t actually have a hatching thread, but I might make one to keep updates on & to monitor progress.

But here’s my girl Hawk.
