injured 8 week old need help!

we have older chickens and three eight week old chickens. one of the little ones escaped into the older chicken coop and they pecked his head wide open. we isolated him from the others pulled the skin as together as we could and applied liquid bandage to it. what else do we need to do or how long does it take for this to heal up. he is eating and drinking well and acts as if nothing is bothering him just not sure if there is something else we need to do! any information would be greatly appreciated!

sounds like you did the right thing. Did you clean the wound and apply Neosporin(NO Caine verson) first? I would just monitor the situation to be certain it doesn't develop into an infection - sometimes the wound needs to drain a bit. Maybe you could fashion a divider between the older and young chickens with a finer guage wire so no one else gets pecked open.
Chickens can be pretty mean.

already fixed the hole he escaped through! will try the neosporin new to chickens so far! thanks for the info
