Injured black vulture on my deck!

Had no plans on going anywhere near him!! He's a BIG boy!

He hop/waddled off into the woods now. I did not hear from wild life commission or rehabber so I sadly am assuming nature will take care of it. A very large bird with a broken wing in the woods here will be eaten by fox by morning...

Now that he is also missing his tail feathers he really cannot fly.

But, I was unable to find him after he got deep into the woods. I did not search hard as I did not want to stress him into going farther.

I know he was black and no threat to my chickens. That is why I knew he was injured. They never bother the live chickens.

Yes they do kill live chickens and other animals. Especially if the vulture is wounded, your chickens will be at risk, be vigilant

I live in Oklahoma, and apparently what had happened is my friends dog got a hold of a crow, and they called a vet, and the vet amputated it's wing, and it wouldn't have been able to be in the wild again, so they were allowed to keep it, and they have had many birds, but they said that there crow was the coolest of all.
