Injured black vulture on my deck!

Had one "almost" get one of my little silkie girls right in my back yard....
Hubby came outside and scared it off though... but it was "on her"..and she had feathers missing on her chest.... so it was going to eat her...

Glad the silkie is ok.



We have some large turkey vultures here - never had a problem with them and all the chickens. They do get down on the ground here - hoping and looking around, but never hurt a chick.



eta: just looked up black vultures and they do appear to have a "hunting" and "killing" mentality about them. But not turkey vultures.
