Injured chick dissapearance?

I have a 3 week old chick who got stepped on by his mother; long story short, he can't walk and somehow disappeared this morning. The coop is full so we had to put that brood in a small wooden cage, the chicken-wire gap isn't very big ( 2.5 cm2 ) and there is NO TRACE of the body. Any ideas of possible predators in the PHILIPPINES?

rats, cats, raven, etc... they all can pull a chick out of 2.5cm/ 1" netting.

Thanks, we've been having rat sightings lately so were thinking rats. Any ideas of how to get rid of them? I don't want to use snap-traps or poison because i don't want to harm the chickens.

bucket traps... five gallon bucket half full of water,20oz pop bottle with rod through middle on top of bucket with alittle peanut butter on it. rats try to get pb and fall in.coool..........

you can make a trap box, about 1'x1'x1', stick a piece of pipe on it about 2' long (rats love running through tunnels), and place yor snap trap in it.

Niiiiice. Finally caught some rats. They were acting crazy in that bucket trap. Hoping to get some more.
