I will give it a go! Whoop whoop .. and as far as the heat pad, Janiedoe is right, I would rather flip the switch rather than get up. Should I have the heat pad set on 115 or 136 degrees you think?

Always set mine on the lowest setting. Just set it up so it's low enough for the chick to up against it if she needs more heat. And @TropicalBabies is right, the towels will help hold the heat.

Thank You so much for this great information! My chick is now a a week and a day with me. (And I believe I found her on day 2). I’m still playing around with the heat cave idea. I was fortunate to meet with someone that lives around d me through a referral from this thread and she let me use a small heat plate for pets you can microwave, and an ambient heater which has been so amazing, and you can adjust the temp and it stays k. For about 12 hours! It’s like a three panel set up that stands in the tub, the. I put a few towels over it. So great!
