Glad to hear she is improving a little! Congratulations on your new job too**update!**
Last I updated she stopped walking. I tried the sling but she didn’t like it at all! Flapped her wings all crazy and I couldn’t calm her down. I could have held her wings down but I thought she might have a heart attack so I aborted that mission. Spent a lot of time on my knees basically doing physical therapy . Anyways I ended up taking her to my local cat/dog vet (I got a part time job at the front desk there and they were nice enough to let me bring her in and use some of the tools to clean her up and get a better look at everything) Was able to get some stronger antibiotic and have been giving it to her twice a day. I’ll edit this later with the name of the antibiotic incase anyone else has expierenced this and only has a cat/dog vet in the area. It’s been 2 days and she has started to use her legs again! Her appetite is where it should be and she looks less depressed! I cant be happier with her progress. Still doing chicken physical therapy daily but it’s worth it!
Sorry I ‘m such a newbie at chickens. I have more questions...
I have a friend that gave me 3 baby chicks. About 4 days old and they are TINY. The mom is maybe the size of my hand. Right now I have them in the bathroom with Maserati because it’s the warmest place for them. I’m working on building a more secure brooder but for now they are in an old dresser with a heat lamp and doggy pee pad.
My questions:
Is it safe to have them in the same room? can the chicks get anything from my wounded chicken or my other chickens in general?
And is she okay to be around them, do you think she will harm them physically?I went out for about 2 hours and when I came back she moved from one end of the bathroom to the other and was staring at them. Didn’t look like a mean stare but it startled me because she can barely walk and she traveled just to see them.
I ended up setting up a spot for her in front of them because she kept coming back!
Pictures of her wounds will come tomorrow when I have help holding her. But for now I have Pictures of the chicks.

Such cute babies!
If possible, it would be a good idea to place a screen over top of your brooder, this will hopefully protect them from the hen and from themselves if they hop out while you are gone. It won't be long before they can get out of the shallow drawer this may be when you see trouble. Your hen may like to watch them but once approached (to make physical contact) she might peck/injure them. You never know how a chicken is going to act - she may be fine, but an adult pecking a chick is bad news and you don't need more injuries to tend to.
I do like the idea that she can see them and hear them!!
