Hello. I’m Chris and new to the forum. I have a chicken with a broken chicken wing, however she is declining rapidly over the last few days. Tail feathers down, curled toes, can’t walk, constant cooing like she is in pain. None of this sounds good. She is suffering? What can I do for her?

Are you absolutely sure the wing is broken? Could something else have happened to cause the downturned tail and curled toes? How long has her wing been broken? I had a girl who had a severe gash on her side and thought I could take care of it myself. But when she continued to decline, I found a local avian vet. By then it was too late (her wound was infected and she ended up with blood poisoning). It was awful and I was devastated. Hopefully this isn’t the case with your girl. If it just happened, maybe whatever caused it put her in shock and she just needs some TLC. I’d keep her in a warm, dark, quiet space and give her some Nutridrench (if you have it), or at least try to get some water into her. If she can eat, you can try scrambled eggs. Hoping someone with more experience can help! 💖
