its likeley it wont grow back. it will be a patch of skin. when I was taking my moms dog for a walk she stepped on a piece of glas and cut a nice chunk out. the vet could not do anything but put on some ointment and wrap it up

Try EMT Spray on it. It's like a liquid bandage made of collagen, and sets hard to protect the skin. It also comes in a thicker gel form. I'd say definitely still take her to the vet, but use this product too to help the healing process. It also protects the nerve endings so will help relieve pain. It's made by Trophy, and can be ordered from several online companies including Basspro and Cabelas. I think some TSCs stock it too.

It's a great product to have on hand in case of emergencies. It can be used to stop bleeding in an emergency (e.g. barb wire accidents) until you can get to a vet. It also works on burns, and I used it on one of my dogs who had a large open wound on her nose from a rattlesnake bite that she kept knocking the scab off. I use it on myself and my husband too, and always carry it in my SAR bag.
