Injured dove - need help, please!

Since she's wild, you're double right to make sure it's quiet. The dogs could scare her to death. That ointment should be just the ticket, believer. Good on you for taking care of the creatures that come your way.

2X believer that is so nice of you, she should be fine, I really like wild birds, it's been so cold and snowy here I've been throwing out scratch for the doves and other ground feeders. Bless you for your efforts. From Israel? what is in it if you don't mind me asking.

Wow, y'all are so quick to answer - again, thank you!

Miss Lydia, it's called Herbal Healing Ointment by Branch of Israel. My friends just sold the business so I don't know if the website is still the same but bet you could find it on google. I've used it on a horse & a dog wound as well as some human boo-boo's and they always heal up very quickly without scars! The horse had torn her eyelid and was very touchy about the area so I only got to put the ointment on 1x! It's pricey due to shipping but some of the best stuff I've ever used (and only used herbal remedies for the past 20 yrs).

Thats why I was asking I like to go that route too, I'll try to find it, Thanks for info.

Thanks for the info, believer. I've been learning to make salves, ointments, and cremes. They fit into my life nicely because I'm a gardener. With comfrey tincture, it is very reasonable to make these things for yourself if you have the time and inclination. Comfrey is great for all kinds of stuff. It just shouldn't be used internally from what I understand, as it can be deadly. Herbs are powerful stuff!

You are so welcome! I was checking out your byc pages........such cute critters! And I love the chicken house/duck house! Very jealous!!!

And I'm so glad that this is one place where we can say we love Jesus!!! Too many forums/boards/and such are 'p.c.' nowadays!!!

Hey Egg on me (love the handle, btw) I used to make my own. But a friend sent me this and it's just too good!!! I've got a number of very healthy comfrey plants that have moved with me 3x's now! Still doing great. I've used the leaves when my horses got into the feed room along with some other herbals and no one foundered or coliced. And I have drank comfrey tea thru the years.....just a cup or two sometimes. Its very warming and healing internally.....got my starter plant from an ol' hippie lady who'd drank a cup every morning for 20+ yrs. Ya see, the alkaloid that the FDA was concerned about doing liver damage can indeed cause problems ~ but most likely it would take more than that to do it. But comfrey doesn't have a lobby in DC protecting it's interests (like the beer, tobacco and big pharm co's do)....just my 2 cents.

I usually harvest some leaves and freeze them in case I need a poultice during the winter. This year life got in the way and I didn't do it. Didn't harvest any plantain either, which is an extraordinary healing plant! Has a natural cortisone molecule which is anti-inflammatory and pain relieving.....hoping I can find some leftover in the freezer from last year so I can juice it for her to drink and spray on her wound. Plantain is my all time favorite!

Oh goodness - just realized that I've been so distracted that I've gotten your name all wrong Egg me on! Sorry!!!
