I noticed last night that my cayuga drake wasn’t using one of his legs. I’m not sure if he tripped on something or fell in a hole, but he seems in rough shape. He was using the leg a little last night, able to at least put a little weight on it to get to the coop. I figured after being up all night, it may get better. This morning I go to let him out and he won’t put any weight on it, he used his healthy leg and wing to get out of the coop and
Now he is just laying in the grass and won’t move. When he was getting out of the coop, he was holding the leg up. Is there anything I can do for him? I would assume it’s not broken considering he was using it a little last night. It’s not dangling or anything, he still has enough control to hold it up. I just don’t know what steps to take next, and I feel so bad with him just laying there unable to forage or move.

No bumblefoot. It’s not hot or anything. It’s just there if that makes any sense. The pictures show when he is sitting down, and when he tries to stand up. It just sits there.

No swelling either? and no bumble. Does he have to leap to get in an out of the pool or jump to get out of his coop? they can sprain their legs pretty easy especially since they aren't real strong anyway. Maybe try keeping him up for a few days to rest it. Just like when we have an injury and we have to rest they need to rest also. One of my Muscovy decided not to use the ramp coming out of the pool once and jump off the side he was limping for a week. He had to rest inside a small area till healed. You can always make small areas using temp fencing and those fence poles that have the sharp points in them that just stick into the ground.

It does seem a little swollen. He has to step to get out of the coop and he has to step over to get in the pool too. It’s so weird, because he was totally fine and then we came back from being in the woods and he was hopping. He’s still sitting, but he’s at least trying to forage around him. If he wants to go somewhere he just scoots on his belly so he doesn’t have to walk. Should I go ahead and put him in the coop? My other drake is so concerned for him and won’t leave his side.

You see a little swelling where is this? About the only way to get him healed is to curtail his movements for a few days then reevaluate and see if it's better. He may have been stung or bitten by something hate to say it but I would look again closely at where the swelling is.
