Injured duck help

Me too I am dealing with bumble foot on one of my Buffs. But we have to be prepared and do what we can to help them recover and that usually means picking them up to examine and treat. Do you mean up where the leg and body meet. Hip area?

I’m sorry you are dealing with bumble foot! That’s no fun either! Here is where the swelling is.

Probably injury. you can also do some soaking with warm Epsom salt water either soaks or compresses that can help with swelling and inflammation.

I am trying antibiotic before tackling this bumble since it's so hard and no way I can get into it, last time it worked to help bring it to the surface and I could get it out.

I will have to give him a good soak. If he’s anything like my other drake, I may get wing flapped to death, but whatever it takes to help him! I don’t like dealing with bumble foot. I hope yours gets better soon! Hopefully I can have a better update on Dave in a couple of days!

I hope Dave's leg feels better. One of my girls got her leg stuck the other day and she acted the same way. Then a couple of hours later she was in the pool and walking just fine. I think it just hurt for a little bit. I am not sure but I think I have read where you can give him something over the counter for the pain. I just didn't end up needing it so I really cannot remember what it was or the dosage.

Hello..Domestic Ducks have not been bred for pets. With that said many Ducks can develop weakened cartalige and suffer joint issues. Different breeders Of duel purpose Ducks either breed for egg layers or meat birds which are then culled at early ages. Not much thought is put into long lives.

This is what he eats, along with foraging all day and occasional treats. I also put some b complex in his food last night to see if it was anything that would help.
What is the calcium percentage of that?
