Injured duck - is my first aid ok

So sorry. I know this was an awful experience. But you were an awesome duck mom and did everything you could.

Horror of horrors, another bird flew over the fence this morning, this time straight into the jaws of my neighbour's dogs. She is very upset that her dogs have attacked the bird. I've assured her that she is not at fault.

My other ducks are flightless (Campbell and Indian Runner) so I am finding homes for all the muscovies. I don't want to see anymore of them injured. I cannot contain them in safety and security without a roofed yard and this is not a possibility. Additonally, I am not agile or fast enough (or young enough) to catch them to clip their wings. I've tried and failed, catching and clipping only one to date, and scaring the rest half to death in the process with what they probably see as a mad woman chasing them around the duck house!

I'm so sorry about your losses. That is really hard to take. I hope you're able to find a good home for them quickly, or maybe find a way to get the wings clipped. Good luck!
