Jinxed myself, actual missing duck, at least 1 injured. Any help / advice appreciated.

Her limp is better. Not great, but better. She can get around and is resting both feet on the ground, now.

Oh, I also meant to mention that a paper plate was the solution. I cut a ~3 inch hole in the center of a plate and stuck it over her head. Works like a charm.

Oh, I see. What Blanca really wanted is hay to make a nest with. And a “nest” she made.. She would move to one side, kick hay around, and when she was unsatisfied with the lack of hay (because she kicked it all away), she’d move to the other side and repeat. She proceeded to make a nest so large, 3 ducks could sit in it comfortably. It took her 15 minutes to realize she could, uhm, pick up the hay and pull it closer

She laid her egg, made some happy chattering, and went to sleep 🩷

This is all that’s left of her wound. Soo much smaller than it was. It looks a bit nasty, but I’m betting it’ll be much nicer in a few days.
And she’s walking great today!!

I think I would let her be out with her buddies during the day, but keep her in the house at night until you are ready to let her back to her usual life style.

I have no idea what is happening in that crate but you could have mice/rats in the duck house and she can't really get away from one in a crate. When I had an issue with rats in my duck house, I ended up putting 1/4" hardware cloth round the dog crate that my pekin drake sleeps in to keep the rats out. I think that problem is resolved but the hardware cloth remains. the gap between the cloth and bars has filled up with pine shavings and feathers and helped to keep him warm when we had a hard freeze
