Injured duck, slipped tendon?

They are not mine. I am trying to help someone on Facebook. She was originally feeding them layer pellets because that's what she was suggested at her store. We corrected the feed and got her into a grower feed and adding brewers yeast.

She has visited two vets already that said its not treatable without surgery and one said put her down and the other said he would be willing to make a splint.

I was communicated to they believe because it's at the joint there really is no way to bend her leg without breaking it.

Hi finally got an account its my duck maisy when I got her she was only about 2-3 weeks old he legs where like this from birth I took her to the vets which one of them told me to put her to sleep and thatbsje was in pain and if I didn't put her to sleep he was going to take furthur action on me so I got a second opinion and this vet said she's health happy eating drinking and isn't in pain!! As that she's got potential he said even if we were to make a splint for her it wouldn't work as you can't physically bend her leg straight! He said surgery would possibly be and option but even then hes not to sure where to go with that he's told me to do plenty of swimming exercises with her and no weight bearing exercises need to try and strengthen her legs if that's possible he also mentioned when she's older she may not be able to support her body weight as she's going to be a big duck (Aylesbury duck) her only hope is me and I want to do everything I can for her to give her a good life do any of you have any ideas thank you

Ah

I mean I've seen ducks have conditions that interfere with their ability to walk and stand and they have turned out just fine. Someone even has a 1 legged duck that had adjusted to hoping around and if happy.

I'm not sure how affected surgery would be, I don't have experience there but I would assume they could straighten her legs, stint it and get her a walker to help support the weight for a few months.

I like the sling idea the pic was posted earlier. I am sure if you google you can find all kinds of ideas about how to make her mobile by making a wheel chair for her or a sling on wheels so she can push around with her good leg. If she seems happy and not in pain and your willing to take care of a house duck then I say go for it. The duckling is adorable.

I believe Sarah replied and let us know it's both legs. Just one looks a little worse in the video.

Oh okay well still the sling with modification or a homemade wheel chair can still work.
Plus warm water therapy if she is willing to keep this lil one and let it have best life possible I think that is great. I have seen on here some years back of a member who had a disabled goose she had made a sling for wish I could find that info but No telling where it is now.

This is how she stands on her feet
