Hello, I'm here for some advice. I'm visiting my grandparents 6+ hours away from home, and of course it had to happen while I'm away, but my family is working on introducing a dog, and he got a hold of one of my ducks, Ruth. My mother is reporting many times a day, but she and I are both new to having ducks, so we need a little bit of guidance. Ruth's breathing is regular, and my brother, who saw the incident, said that the dog didn't shake her, but did shove her into the ground a bit. Her upper leg is wounded, she won't put any weight on it for longer than a few seconds. There appears to be bruising on her leg. She also has an open wound below her wing, bruising, and quite a large amount of feathers missing. Ruth is being kept dry at night, and supervised tub time throughout the day. We're keeping her away from the others, to avoid further injury. She seems to have no change in behavior or appetite. Her wounds are cleaned regularly, and my mother applied neosporin. She tried covering the wound with guaze, but Ruth flung it off and it wouldn't stay. Ruth tries to clean the area herself, but she was too rough and was ripping more flesh, so she's been watched closely to make sure she doesn't worsen her injuries. I'm worried about infection, and whether she'll be able to walk again. I have pictures if that helps, please respond as soon as possible. I love my ducks, and I don't want to lose even one of them, especially while I'm away and unable to help them myself
