Injured duck

Please help I have an injured 3 week old duckling. I believe it was bitten in the face by a snapping turtle. I have separated it away from the flock and its sibling. I have put it in a quiet room. It is eating and drinking on its own. It has its own little pool that it does get in and out of. I did get Vetericyn +plus antibacterial, poultry care spray and also Blu-Kote protective wound dressing. I really need to know if it has an infection and if not how to make sure that it doesn’t get an infection. If someone can give me some advice I would appreciate it.

Poor baby. It sounds to me like you are doing the right things. I would continue to keep it inside to prevent flies from laying eggs on the wound. You might want to see a vet.
