I am the owner of a new Indian runner duckling (4days old) and I was enjoying sometime in the sun with it when I accidentally trod on its foot...everything seems to be moving and doesn't seem to be broken however there is a dark purple bruise. Can anyone help me help my little Eric?

Do you have any Epsom salt? Be careful with it because it is a laxative, so don't let Eric eat or drink it. It is also a treatment for bruises.

You can make a little compress.

Put a tablespoon of Epsom salt in a half cup of water. Soak a clean rag or washcloth or paper towel in it, and wrap it gently around his foot and leg and hold it there for a while. It may be easier to get him to sit on it in your lap. I would do that two or three times a day for a couple of days.

I will be getting some rest soon but plan to check back in the morning. What time is it where you are?

Thank you so much for the fast reply and suggestion. He is now walking on it and seems much happier already!
