Injured eye, Help?

My little call duck has a badly inflamed eye. Its red but not terribly swollen, she doesnt seem to have control of the third eyelid, it closes over the eye but wont flick back easily. Ive given it a flush with clean water and made sure all the water dishes are clean. Would it benefit from a salt water rinse or should I just leave it alone?

I would definitely do a salt rinse. I've dealt with ducks/ducklings with eye infections and other eye problems before and the salt always has worked well. I use 1 cup boiled water to 1 teaspoon of salt

If it continues to look inflamed you might want to try a chamomile tea rinse

Thanks Fawkes. It actually looks much better today, not red or swollen and her eyelid is working fine. I gave it another clean water rinse and I'll keep watching her.
