In the Brooder
Hi all, I have a bantam OEG, her eye looked a little odd this morning, and by the afternoon was definitely not right. Still open, but just looking different to her other eye. We waited till night time, picked her off the perch, and I washed her eye with a weak salt / water solution. I tired to loosen some of the black stuff, but then wasn't sure what was going on with her eyelid and I didn't want to damage it further.
After reading some posts here, my plan is to get some chlorsig in the morning, I only know of the drops? and put some drops in her eye first thing.
I'm in Australia - can't seem to find Terramycin or Neosporin.
I did call the vet, the chicken specialist isn't in for a few weeks, otherwise there is the emergency vet in Melbourne.
Any other suggestions for treatment at home?
Two pics of the damaged eyelid, and one of her good eye.
thanks,
Natalie
