Was holding the chicken to put it back in its house from the garden and it escaped and fell from waist height, (1m approx) must have fell awkwardly as now it is limping on one foot, I looked closely and one of the 3 toes? has gone limp
I tried putting a warm blanket in her house and softly putting here there but she insists on staying out
will she be ok :(
Please any help feedback wlll be appreciated

i would call the local vet and see what they say. i have a chick that was born with a limp toe and hes 4 months old now and fine. she should be okay but like i said i would call a vet

Ok, thanks alot for your help, I'll defs give them a call first thing in the morning
is there anything i can do for her in the meantime, I went out to check on her and she wasn't even sitting down; just standing there on her one good foot. I really hope she was resting and just stood up because I came to check on her; dont want her standing up all night.
Thanks again

Sorry to bother, but will the bird get better on its own? I don't have the money to take it to a vet and I really dont want to put her down
(vet quoted $300)

Just wait and see how it goes. Many chickens have lived with much worse injuries than one limp toe.

You could surely try. And keep the bird warm and confined to a smallish space to limit movement for a couple weeks.

All the leg and toes felt normal? So we decided no splint
She is currently sitting in the corner of her house with food and water

I'd just wait it out then if I was you. I will cull a bird that can't get around at all but give it a chance to heal first... I had a bulldog that on 3 or 4 different occasions would jump off the stairs and then limp for a couple days... Sometimes you land wrong and it hurts, but nothing is wrong. So just wait, watch, and see how it goes
