I have a 2-3 week old guinea keet which has an injured leg. The little bird was fine in his brooder, but when I put him in the outdoor coop for for his first outdoor play time, he refused to stand. I laughingly told my husband that the guinea was being dramatic and thought maybe it just didn't like the texture of the grass. I began to grow concerned when after two ours of outdoor time, he still wasn't walking.

He obviously got injured when I picked him up, but nothing strange happened at the point. I didn't pick him up by the legs.

It's been a few days now and the little thing uses its good leg to push itself around the coop to get food and water. It seems happy enough, and there is no visible injury. Leg seems straight, is not swollen, is not hot, is the same size as the other one. Hip seems fine. When I push my fingers against its feet, he pushes back. He is eating and drinking. I am hoping the injury is just a sprain or something, but I have no idea how to treat his problem.

What do you guys think? Has something like this happened to you before?
