That was my first guess - a late molt. I have a Black Cochin who didn't molt when all the rest did, perhaps because she was broody on a nest the past spring and her system got out of sync. She has bare spots on her underside just like your girl. And another give-away is the presence of pin feathers emerging in the bald area.

Yeah, If you see little quills poking out then she is probably going through a Molt

, the limping could just be a coincidence.

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense. My other hens did not molt as bad. it is late but I'm glad it's nothing too serious.
